Having been moved by recent images shown on national television showing people made homeless following an Earthquake in some far off foriegn place, the girls at Essex rugby decided to do all they can to help the under privileged closer to home.

One of the schemes set up by the girls was one which arranged for those more needy members of our down at heel community to be taken to clubs where the girls were due to play a game of rugby. The idea behind this was it was a cheap way of feeding them as they always have good grub after games for the players and staff.

This week some were taken to Ely to see the Girls in action. However after witnessing an U17 coaching session, the excitement proved too much for one of our our guests who retired to the club house to reflect on the techniques passed on to the girls.

PS Will the person who brought their parent with them on the day please contact the staff at Ely Rugby club and arrange to pick him up and return him to Cardboard Avenue as soon as possible.
